Smart Label Solutions Inc. and its affiliates (“SLS”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) owns and operates the SLS website at https://hanshowaccessories.com, which allows users to browse SLS’s line of products and accessories, to manage and update product and pricing information, to make purchases, orders, submit warranty claims, manage and upgrade their software subscription, and other functions related to SLS’s products and services (the “Platform”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and applicable Canadian provincial privacy legislation, including British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (collectively, “Privacy Laws”). This Privacy Policy tells you how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you access and use the Platform and the services and communications that are made available through the Platform (collectively, the “Services”).

Minors

Our Platform is not intended for minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you are a minor, do not use our Platform or provide any information about yourself to us. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a minor, we will delete that information and any accounts associated with the minor. What is “personal information”?

“Personal information” is any information about an identifiable individual, which includes information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person. What personal information do we collect?

  • Account information, such as your username and password when you sign up for an account;
  • Transaction information, that you provide to us in connection with any purchases that you make on or through the Platform, excluding credit card, debit card, and other payment information, which are collected by the provider of the application store from which you have downloaded the Platform directly from you;
  • User-generated content, that you create, submit, post, upload, publish, or otherwise make available to us on or through the Platform; and
  • Feedback and communications, including personal information that you include in any feedback or communication that you provide to us.

We may also collect information from you that is not considered personal information because it cannot be used to identify you or anyone else, such as statistical or aggregate information about how users interact with our Platform and Services.

Aggregated and Anonymized Data

We may also aggregate and anonymize the personal information that we collect from you and use such aggregated and anonymized data for our internal and external business purposes, including the operation of our business, the advertisement, marketing, and promotion of products and services, and determining product usage trends and efficacy. The aggregated and anonymized data that we create will not be used or disclosed in a manner that identifies you.

We collect personal information when you provide that information to us directly, including:

For what purposes do we disclose your personal information?

We may disclose personal information that we collect from or receive about you:

  • To other users connected to the store master account that you have joined;
  • To our employees, contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our operation of the Platform and Services, and who are contractually obligated to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them;
  • In accordance with applicable law, to a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of SLS’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by SLS about our customers and users is among the assets transferred;
  • To advertisers and advertising networks that require the information to select and serve relevant advertisements to you and others. We do not disclose data about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, we may inform them that 150 women under the age of 35 have clicked on their advertisement on a specific day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers target a specific audience (for example, men in a specific location). We may make use of the personal information we have collected from you to enable us to display our advertisers’ advertisement to that target audience;
  • To enforce or apply our Terms of Use, which can be found at https://hanshowaccessories.com/terms-of-use/, including for billing and collection purposes; and
  • To comply with any law, rule, regulation, lawful and binding determination, decision, or direction of a regulator, or in cooperation with any governmental authority.

User Contributions

You may also provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted”) on public areas of the Platform or to be transmitted to other users of the Platform or third parties (collectively, the “User Contributions”). Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although we limit access to certain pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Platform with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

How do we use cookies?

A “cookie” is a small summary file containing a unique ID number. We may send you direct marketing communications and information about our services that we consider may be of interest to you. These communications may be sent in various forms, including mail, SMS text messages, push notifications, and email, in accordance with applicable marketing laws, such as Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). If you indicate a preference for a method of communication, we will endeavour to use that method whenever practical to do so. In addition, at any time you may opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by contacting our Privacy Officer using the details below, or by using opt-out facilities provided in the marketing communications. If you choose to opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us, we will ensure your name is removed from our mailing list.

Where is your personal information transferred or stored?

We may process, store, transfer, or disclose your personal information to contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business for the purposes listed above. We may disclose your personal information to entities located in a foreign country, including hosting service providers located in Canada and the United States, that assist us with the operation of our business.

In these circumstances, the governments, courts, law enforcement, or regulatory agencies of that country may be able to obtain access to your personal information through the laws of the foreign country. How long do we keep your personal information?

Under some circumstances, we may anonymize or de-identify your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you. It is important that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal information changes. You have the right to request access to and to correct the personal information that we hold about you. You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Platform and visiting your account profile page, or by contacting our Privacy Officer using the details below. Before providing access to any information, we will first verify your identity, and you consent to our collection and use of your personal information for verification purposes.

We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect. We may request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity, and to provide you with the personal information that we hold about you or make your requested changes. If we cannot provide you with access to your personal information, we will inform you of the reasons why, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions.

How can you withdraw consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information?

Where you have provided your consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information, you may have the legal right to withdraw your consent under certain circumstances. Does our Platform contain links to third-party websites?

Our Platform may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins, services, social networks, or applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow the third party to collect or share data about you. If you follow a link to a third-party website or engage a third-party plugin, please note that these third parties have their own privacy policies and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. What is the process for complaining about a breach of this Privacy Policy?
